Acupuncture
Acupuncture describes the medical and holistic practice of inserting and manipulating ultra fine filiform needles in different points in the body, primarily to relieve pain but also for other therapeutic purposes.
Generally acupuncture is classified as a form of Traditonal Chinese Medicine (TCM) although there are other forms including both Japanese and Korean styles of acupuncture.
According to the theory of acupuncture these points are found along meridians where and energy call qi is said to flow. Whilst modern medical science can find no anatomical or medical basis for these theories:- there is a body of clinical evidence that that acupuncture is all the same effective in treating many conditions
