Acupressure
Acupressure is a Traditional Chinese medicine technique of applying pressure to acupuncture points instead of using needles. The hands, elbows or various instruments may be used.
Like with Acupuncture, the treatment may result in release of muscular tension and promotion of Blood flow
As well as pressure techniques, acupressure can also encompass the technique of cupping. This involoves the use of glass, plastic or bamboo cups to create a vacuum. The cups are placed over various points on the body ā usually the back ā to treat stagnation. Cupping has been used to treat respiratory diseases such and musculoskeletal pain ā particularly neck, back and shoulder injuries and pain.
