Bowen Therapy
Bowen Therapy is a gentle and relaxing remedial body technique, which aims to utilize the body’s own healing resources achieving balance – the result being immediate and lasting relief from pain and discomfort.
The Bowen Technique comprises a series of gentle, rolling motions and very light touches. The rolling motion tightens or loosens muscles depending on the way the move is done.
Substantial relief and benefit is usually seen after a single session, with clients generally only needing two or three treatments, usually one week apart. Sessions generally last between 30 and 50 minutes depending on the treatment, and can in most cases be done fully clothed as no oils are involved.
Bowen Therapy may improve circulation, lymphatic and venous draining, assimilation of nutrients and elimination of toxins, joint mobility and posture. Proponents say it is one of the best treatments for sporting strain injuries such as frozen shoulder, and tenodonitis especially of the elbow and forearm.
